About Us

Who we are and what we do:

With the support of Queen’s University and Olde Forge Community Resource Centre, we are the Ottawa wing of a growing network of Oasis programs that support older adults in their own communities, also known as Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities (NORCs).

Oasis helps to organize in-house activities and events that encourage social interaction, healthy nutrition, and physical activity. We aim to support residents to Age-In-Place by creating opportunities for older adults to engage in their home community, learn about necessary resources, and encourage healthy living.

For Ambleside and Rosewood Residents:

Oasis membership is free and open to all Older Adults who reside in the Ambleside One, Ambleside Two, Ambleside Three, and Rosewood Apartment buildings. All activities are free unless otherwise explicitly stated on the monthly calendar, newsletter, and event-specific posters.

While only Older Adults are eligible to be members, we encourage residents of all ages to join in on activities that interest them! We host monthly All Members Meetings where members are encouraged to share their perspective, suggest new ideas for programming, and help shape their community.

For the Broader Ottawa Community:

In Ottawa, Oasis is currently only operating in and open to residents of Ambleside One, Ambleside Two, Ambleside Three, and Rosewood Apartments.
